BudgetBuddy Privacy Policy

BudgetBuddy uses secure cloud storage so couples can share budgets across devices. Your financial data is encrypted in transit and stored in a private Firestore database accessible only by your household.
1. Who We Are
BudgetBuddy is operated by KGKV LLC, a Pennsylvania limited liability company. Contact us at [email protected].
2. What Data We Collect
BudgetBuddy uses Firebase (Google) for cloud sync between household members. The following data is stored in your private Firestore database:
- Email address and display name — used to create and identify your account and link household members.
- Budget and spending data — budget categories, spending limits, and transactions you enter. Stored in your private Firestore database, accessible only to your household.
- Savings goals — goal names, target amounts, and progress. Stored in your private Firestore database.
- Bill reminders — bill names, amounts, and due dates. Stored in your private Firestore database.
- Household membership — which accounts belong to the same household, for shared budget access.
- Advertising identifier — used by Google AdMob to serve ads to free-tier users. Removed when you upgrade to Pro.
- Purchase receipt — processed by RevenueCat and Google Play to verify your Pro subscription.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To sync your budget between household members' devices in real time.
- To authenticate you securely via Firebase Authentication.
- To display spending summaries, alerts, and insights within the app.
- We do not use your financial data for advertising, analytics, or any purpose beyond operating BudgetBuddy.
4. Financial Data Security
All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. Your Firestore database is protected by Firebase Security Rules that restrict access to authenticated members of your household only. KGKV LLC employees do not access your financial records for any purpose other than responding to a direct support request from you.
BudgetBuddy does not connect to your bank accounts. All transaction data is entered manually by you.
5. What We Do Not Collect
- We do not connect to your bank, credit card, or investment accounts.
- We do not collect Social Security numbers, account numbers, or passwords.
- We do not sell or share your financial data with advertisers or data brokers.
- We do not use AI features that transmit your financial data to external services.

7. Data Retention and Deletion
Your data remains in Firestore as long as your account exists. To delete your account and all associated financial data, contact [email protected] and we will permanently delete your Firestore data within 30 days.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your data at any time. Contact [email protected] for any of these requests. We will respond within 30 days.
9. Children's Privacy
BudgetBuddy is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via in-app notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
